Hi Jaleh, thank you for sparing your time with me for this interview.

It’s a pleasure my dear friend! No problem at all.

Please introduce yourself

How do you first discovered this site</b>

My friend Adina told me about the site, since she knows I’m a photography lover.

I noticed you first joined this community back in late 2007, but just for while before a long pause, mind sharing why?

Kinda complicated, but well here it goes. In that time (2007) I was dating a guy named Muli. He is a muslim from Palestine. Since I’m an Israeli and he’s a Palestinian, you can say it was a difficult relationship. I got pregnant and alot of things changed. Muli and I started living together in a city near Gaza. I had to find a better work to play the bills, and so on. It was difficult because Muli didn’t want me working,as he believed “women’s place is in home with the children.” Of course this didn’t worked for me.
My daughter was born,Liora (means "God's gift of light to me" in hebrew).
Then when Israel attacked Palestine (2008), Muli left us (me and Liora) and went back to Palestine,to stay as he said “with his people”. So I was with a newborn to take care and working a lot at the hospital, no time for other things at all. But now I’m back, since my dear brother is helping me a lot, I have time to my photography again.

What type of photography is your favourite?

Portraits. Because people faces are imbued with such emotion and cumulative experiences.

Are the people who are in the photos usually the ones close to you in person?

Yes, they are usually my friends and neighbors. But sometimes are totally strangers (usually my soldiers photos).

Tell me about the environment back there in your place.

It’s a complicated place. Since this endless conflict between Israel-Gaza.
But hope conjures thoughts of better days to come and of a better place than this.

What is your biggest dream?

See my daughter growing in a place with no war,no suffering,no poverty,no religion fanatics.
